Italian PM Mario Draghi tries to save the country
Mario Draghi is the new Italian Prime Minister. After one of the worst political crisis in the history of the country he replaced Giuseppe Conte.
He is the former President of the European Central Bank and he led Europe out of the 2008 global economic crisis. Before Draghi was appointed Prime Minister by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella he was the favourite candidate to succeed him as head of the State.
Draghi’s first aim is now to prevent the economic collapse of the country thanks to a strong political majority, built upon the consensus from all the major political parties. The only Italian party that did not support the actual government is the far right ‘Fratelli d’Italia’.
